Whilst we didn’t see anything as game changing as ‘Teams’ being released this month, it hasn’t been disappointing!SharePoint
The first release (Preview) of ‘Microsoft To do’ has happened:
To-Do is built on Office 365, which in coming months will enable the product to be even more useful in more places. Our first integration with Outlook makes it easy to stay on top of your Outlook Tasks from anywhere. It will automatically sync your Tasks with To-Do, and allow you to access and manage them across devices.”
Microsoft Threat Intelligence
Office 365 Threat Intelligence, now available.
- Interactive tools to analyze prevalence and severity of threats in near real-time.
- Real-time and customizable threat alert notifications.
- Remediation capabilities for suspicious content.
- Expansion of Management API to include threat details — enabling integration with SIEM solutions.
With the massive hacking of some of NHS, affecting UK’s largest hospitals ANYTHING security related is RELEVANT. Definitely protect yourself using any of the existing offering that Microsoft have to offer.
Outlook Customer Manager
This is now available worldwide. It is super easy and worth a try.
Automated Process Flowcharts with Excel and Visio
Do you use Visio? Are you always creating ‘process flowcharts’? You can now take advantage of this feature and now save time!.
Diagrams don’t always start in Visio. They often begin as hand-drawn sketches or — in today’s data-driven age — in Excel. Using Data Visualizer, business analysts can represent process steps and associated metadata in a structured Excel table and quickly convert that information into a visualized Visio diagram.
You can do this by either using a premade Excel template or an existing spreadsheet of your own design. The premade templates — there’s one for basic and one for cross-functional flowcharts — provide a sample mapping table to populate with diagram metadata.
The table includes predefined columns for process step number, description, dependencies, owner, function, phase and more. You can also customize the table with your own columns to meet specific business requirements.
Files on Demand
This update is one that many people have been hoping for. It is the ability to view all files across all devices and to choose which ones you want to download onto the device. There is also a ‘status’ column so you can easily tell which ones are stored where and whether or not they’re downloaded onto the device.
This update also includes being able to access files on your device, whilst offline AND to send them via iMessage.

There have been some small, but handy, updates across some of the other areas of SharePoint, OneDrive and Yammer:
There is an announced roll out of improved user interface for easier collaboration, better usability and improved security!.
This has started now and should be done by September. It essentially replaces the existing ‘Get a link’ option with a ‘Copy link’ option, from here you simply select what other options you’d like to include. You can also ‘Share’ files directly into outlook OR with people (the same options with apply around security when you choose ‘Share’).
You can now EDIT posts in yammer! It’s the little things that make all the difference!
We’ve been asked to Join a Webinar with the awesome team of Grassroots IT. If you want to register or you know of someone looking to learn more about why they might use SharePoint, send them along!.
